I have now upgraded the handlebars to Syntace VRO carbon system which allows for great amount of adjustment and been playing around with swapping the forks from the Marzocchi AM3 to the Junior T's they looked great and the 170mm travel was great downhill, but they don;t half clonk on topping out and make riding uphill a real chore, any way see the photos below.
I have swapped back to the AM3's and have just ordered a pair of Maverick DUC32's twin crown upsidown forks with 6" of travel that weigh in at a cool 3.9 pounds, I'll post some photos when they arrive |

My Maverick DUC32 forks have arrived, but will recieve a full stripdown and service before I fit them, also just won a Fox RP3 Rear shock which will be going on at the same time, last time I weighed, the bike was 32 lb with the Marzocchi AM3's this should lower the weight to 28 lb ish, it has also had the Juicy 5 brakes replaced with Ultimate Carbons, and the changer from X7 to X9 (both more for cosmetic reasons!) once there all fitted, I'll polish her up and get some photos on. I think all that will be left will be looking for a cheep(ish) s/h X0 rear mech, but I'm more than happy with the spec now (once I have some time to sort it) 6 inch travel and rock hard build under 30 lb who wouldn't be! I'm also trying to look at the total cost which is way under 1K (uk £) |

I feel she's getting realy close to being just how I had originally intended, 'Light Weight, Long Travel, All Mountain'
Now weighing in at 27lb final (ish) spec below Maverick DUC32 forks (6") Fox Float RP3 rear Shock (6" travel bracket) Mavic 717 wheels (XT rear Hub, Maverick front) Kenda Navegal 2.35 Kevlar Beed tyres Avic Juicy Ultimate Carbon Brakes SRAM X9 rear mech & Changer XT BB & Crank with E-Thirteen Chain device with Wellgo MG-1 Mag pedals DMR Wingbars with lockon grips SDG Ti seat with EPX Carbon Post The only thing I will do now (other than ride!) is upgrade the brake hoses to Goodrich as the stock Avid ones make even Ultimates just a little spongy then one day replace the Crank set to an external BB with Saint or SLX crank.... I'm going to have to look for another project bike! |

Took the TS to Cwmcarn in South Wales, the ballance between the forks and the near perfect perfomance of the fox shock was a delight to thrash, including half an hopur in the bike park at the top of the mountain with a 4' northshore drop-off, unfortunatly on the thunderous decent I snapped the rear mech hanger, I had a spare, but stupidly not with me, so I coasted gently down the last 1/2 hours worth of single track......... now I need to sorce a new supply of mech hangers. If anyon e is interested, I have an engineer friend whom I coule gewt to make a few dozzen of and work out a price for them, most folk sell them for aout £15 (UK pound) I'm sure if I could get 20+ of them I could get the price done, any takers? |

Hi leshark, I am very impress with your ride. I just purchase a T-Bolt frame set which comes with a alloy swing arm. I am in the process of building up the bike. I am keen in getting the carbon fiber swing arm. Do you by any chance, know of where I get get one? I am not sure what is a rear mech hanger? Is this the swing arm? If yes, I am keen to purchase a couple. one to use and one for spare. Thanks.

This is the mech hanger, it screws onto the rear arm then the rear deraileur bolts to it, it is made of a soft alloy so if you hit the rear mech it is designed to bend or break as opposed to destroying your mech, it is classed as sacreficial, unfortunatly though if you cant buy them it could make the bike obsolete if broken! |

Hi leshark, Thanks for the clarification. Guess I do not need that part as the tbolt comes with a different swing arm. By the way, do you know of any source that still sells the carbon viber swing arm (terrashark)? thanks |

My EPX supplier in Johannesburg may have some hangers left over from his import days. Try him at avidon@iafrica.com. See my thread in EPX website re: Terrashark swingarms... Mountainbiker@mweb.co.a |

Hi, I found a similar looking bike and swing arm. I do not know if this one fits the bike. If anyone has experience with this kindly share. www.mountaincycle.com http://www.eclipsesports.net/ (their Singapore distributor)

That header graphic sure looks a lot like a Terrashark.

| leshark, I saw a 2nd hand maverick fork for sale but it does not come with the stem and the part on top of the fork which to fit the stem. I know that I can get the stem for meverick but what do you call the part that link the fork to the stem? and where to buy it? Also what length stem to you advice? I am using a 16" frame and I am 1.8m. Thanks. |

Hi, I think you mean the top crown, I recently bought a high "upper Crown" as there are three sizes, have now sent it back because what I actually needed was a longer "steerer Shaft" If I can I'll attach a manual which has all the parts on it, the Maverick forks are very simple maintenence and Maverick direct will help if you need putting in touch with a local supplier. However I would be slightly concerned why someone was selling a pair of DUC forks without the upper crown and stem as they won't fit any other forks |
