Hi All

Finally done some mods to my ride. I started with the suspention as that is where I thought I would see the most difference in performance. Gone are the old spring forks and in with a new set of Fox Float forks with 130mm travel. To balance up the new forks I got an updated shock mount from Evan, and put on a new Fox DHX Air 5.0. Still trying to learn where the best settings are for the adjustments on both so may do a light trail ride this weekend and have a play. Just done a ride around home and I think it is going to be perfect for the trails in the Perth hills. Next stage think I will do a bit of work on the breaks. Sorry about the quality of the pics, might budget for a new camera as well

Can't wait to hit the trails on this

Have you had any problems so far with the new rear shock upgrade? I'm about to order my own upgrade and wanted to hear from someone who has already done it, and with a Fox DHX Air 5.0. What is the travel on the rear shock?

No problems at all with the shock upgrade. Of course you need the updated shock mount, and shock size needed for that is 7.5 x 2. With that I have increased rear travel to about 130mm and have just teamed it up with a set of Fox Talas 140mm forks. I use it for going xcountry on the hills around perth and it handles great, the extra travel is a must here for not getting constant bottom-outs here on logs and rocks.

Awesome! was mounting the new shock mount a simple bolt on operation or was it necessary to bond the new mount to the frame? Just want to get an idea of the amount of work I will need to do once I have the new mount in hand. Thank, and btw you bike looks awesome, hope mine will look the same when I'm finished.

No need to bond the new shock mount in place, just bolt on with the same bolts as the old shock mount

Great! I know that might have seemed a silly question, but I don't have either bike or mounting plate in hand, bot hare in the post. Thanks again!
