I have a barely used TerraShark and just started to take it out after years of just collecting dust. I noticed it squeeks going uphill and remember it did that in the past. As I am now more serious about getting back in shape and hitting the trails I did take it to a bike shop for a tune-up and to look into what makes it squeek. Come to find out that when he tries to pull it lateraly, the carbon sleeve of the flying arm glides in/out of the aluminum hinge that connects it to the main carbon frame.

The bike shop guy says teh issue should be addressed... so my questions are:

Did anyone else experience this?

Is there a way to fix?

Any other thoughts/options?

Thanks!

There are bearings that are seated in the frame and the axle for the swing arm or rear fork goes through these two bearings. Mine bike started squeaking like youre a couple of years ago and I ignored it until recently but now the entire swing arm rocks back and forth when I ride. i took things apart a few days ago and found that one of the bearings is shot and that was allowing the axle to work back and forth when torque was applied. I am now trying to figure out how to knock out hte bearings and replace them. I tried using a punch with a dead blow hammer and this did not seem to budge the bearing. Am now looking for advice on bearing removal. Let me know if you find answers to this conundrum. Thanks, 2thman
