HAD TO GRIND DOWN THE EDGE OF MOUNT TO ALLOW SHOCK TO PIVOT ENOUGH TO MOUNT TOP BOLT! notice the shock end touching the mount in 1st pic (UNLESS YOU CAN REVERSE YOUR SHOCK), THEN THIS MOUNT WILL WORK OUT OF THE BOX, BUT I CANT REVERSE THIS SHOCK, IT WONT FIT ANY OTHER WAY SO GRIND IT OFF! JUST THOUGHT ID SHOW YOU GUYZ SOMETHING YOU MAY HAVE TO DO. |

| ABOVE grinded/polished and ready to mount (notice what looks like a home depot nut/bolt for mount) dont get me wrong, the mount alone is worth the price, but why not offer a quality nut/bolt for $10-15 more and save face, epx carbon has always been near flawless and cutting edge designs, but i am forced to remember when i got the frame, tollerances between pivot/bolt and frame/swingarm were horrible, after lots of tinkering (shims/spacers/new pivot bolts) now every pivot is tight and smooth and all new bolts, the bolt that came with this mount is what triggered the relapse (same prob as orig. bolt), when you put the bolt through the mount (MOUNT IS BURLY AND VERY WELL MADE),as for the bolt, there is noticable movement which will create a clunk (and its threaded all the way), so when the threads impress into the soft metal shock bushings the clunk will get worse when lifted unless you tighten with the death grip, but this is a pivot, it cant be that tight and to top it off, the bolt is too long, so its unfinished edge/threads stick out! i may be a bit of a perfectionist but epx carbon is top quality, i wish the hardware was as top quality as well, as far as im concerned these bikes are worth the extra work if needed!! BELOW, everything done, pivot with room to spare! |
