Hi,
Just wondering what locks and lock strategy people use to secure their epx bike, specifically the swing arm bikes like the Mako, Roadster and Speedster.
I've had my Roadster for a while, but just moved to a city apartment that has a shared underground parking garage. I'd like to lock it up down there, but am unsure of how best to lock it since most locks are designed for standard triangle frames.
How do you lock your epx bike?

| hi , i tink its best not to lock , i figure out , that theres no space for lock , as most placement was easily taken out with allen key and the lock can be taken away...maybe EPX always recommending ppl not to lock also?just my thinking...i not a pro , so i cant comment much |

Hi Graham
Welcome to the Forum, the only one of its kind!
To answer your query: I have never left my Terrashark outside during the past 10 years of ownership, not once. I actually have dreams whereby I have, I've come back from wherever and it's been gone, and then there's this horrible sense of panic!
In my opinion, there's no bike security on Earth that can protect your bike from a determined or professional thief, they have the tools and the techniques to steal anything if they want to.
Is your apartment too small to store your bike safely? Or is it too much hassle to transport it there on a regular basis? I actually took my bike with me when I was flat hunting, to make sure I could get it up and down the stairs and into the flat in one piece.
Sorry, but I don't know what else to suggest. It'll be interesting to see some of the other replies to your query because I don't think I have ever seen any EPX bike locked up outside.
Good luck and let us know what you decide to do.
Derek

I lock mine up sometimes when I'm around town. I have a large U-shaped lock that is as wide as the frame about where your knees are when riding. It's long enough to fit around pipes and bars and even poles up to the same width. I put my bike against the pole, put the lock around the back of the pole or bar and then push the actual locking bar against the frame onto the lock. You'd have to cut the lock or the frame to get them apart and the lock is very thick. The lock came with a holder that attaches to the seat post. I positioned it so that the lock lies flat against the frame when stored. I have always had a long strip of clear urethane tape laid along the two ridges on both sides of the frame to keep them from being scuffed when I lean the bike against things, and that has kept it in good order. Regards Rob

| Forgot to say mine is a Terrashark, but it'd work the same with a Speedster. |

You can remove the seat and go through with the thickest cable that will fit through .I wouldn't leave this bike outside un attended it is a Great Looking Bike.It will be in my bedroom with me at all times. |
