Finally I now have some rear derailer hangers for the Terrasharks. Sorry to say that I cannot give them out for free any longer. If you require a derailer hanger then email me at evan@epxbikes.com. They are $20.00AUD each including post and can be paid for through Paypal using this email or payments@epxbikes.com. I also have 303 derailer hangers for the same price.

We have tested a prototype rear shock mount for the Terrashark that enables the use of a 190mm shock giving 156mm of rear travel. This would need to be matched to a fork with 130mm+ travel to keep the front end from getting too steep. We are getting quotes on CNC machining now, so if you are interested then drop us an email or reply to this post and show your interest.

That's great news! Years back you sent me two hangers and I was totally amazed you didn't charge for them at the time. Even now, $20 AUD is a great buy on the hangers. I'm having a bit of trouble with my Paypal account (credit card got stolen!!) but as soon as I'm up and running again I'll buy some more hangers from you.

That's also fantastic news about the rear shock mount. When I built my Terrashark, I used a 125mm front shock and designed a swingarm shock mount that allowed me to run a 172mm shock and get 125mm of rear travel as well. The swingarm dropped slightly, giving a steeper head tube (counteracted by the longer fork though). I'm using a Shimano XTR front derailer and there wasn't any room to drop the swing arm any further. I'd definitely be interested in seeing the new bracket once they're out of the machine shop though. There's *so* many great shocks that only come in 190mm or longer that would be a perfect match for the bike.

Thanks again for all your help-

I noticed there is a bit of flex on the Shimano XT front derailleur on my Terrashark. It needs a brace to keep the BB mounting ring firm. The flex results in sloppy front cog changes. Has anyone experienced the same problem, and perhaps found an anwser?

Adrian, do you have the small black alu. tab that goes from the derailer to the frame?

Just wondering if you got notice of my Paypal payment ~ a week ago for some hangers. Wondering if those had been sent out or anything yet. Feel free to post an update, or email me one. Thanks!

Hi Dan, Your hangers have left. Since the start of the new site my spam has been mental so I tried a few things to cut it back and stopped a lot of stuff coming through. Your email may have got caught up in this. I put in a different shock mount for you also.

Thanks Evan! The parts just arrived today. I like the re-design of the hangers too. Should offer a lot more strength in the area where the previous ones had failed. Nice work. Thank you for the shock mount as well. This is for the stock shock length right? Not a prototype for the long shock? It appears much like the original, but with a much stouter base. Great quality parts as always!

Not quite a hanger problem, but I have noticed that the Shimano front derailleur bottom bracket mount flexes under pressure giving sloppy front ring changes when racing uphill.  It looks like it needs a brace, but there is no obvious way of fixing one on. Has anybody else experienced this problem, and if so, what did you do to overcome it?

Will look in the  daylight!  And please ignore my 'just posted repeat question', did not see your answer until I had re-posted the q.

Evan, there are two holes drilled in the Shimano bb mount, but no brace to the frame, or any obvious way of mounting one onto the frame...BTW, have you received my PAYPAL payment yet/shipped the parts???

Fruit alian if you are adrian from Sth Africa, yes your bit left last week.
On the Terrashark there is a 5mm thread tapped in to the frame just above the BB. There shold be a black Alu. plate that goes back to the front derailer and bolts up to one of the 2 holes you mentioned. Sounds like the plate is missing. Just post a confirmation of you identity and I will send you one when I get in into work on monday. Have had very slow air mail times to Sth Africe so you may need to be a little patient for the bits. Keep me updated. Evan

Yes- I am on and the same! Had a few emails back and forth with RIA, he sort of explained why, when I log i with one user name, another pops up on the website. Ask him for details ;-) Pls also ask him why my login details are never remembered!
I just checked again, and I can see the hole on the frame, so there is no BB bracing plate in place. Is that something Anthony should have given me with the frame? If so, I will ring him, if not, please send. I will also need a new bottom bracket hinge elastomer for the Mako. Can you put them together? Many thanks.

Yep, Adrian is the Alien.

The forum displays strictly the First and Last name fields together. It does not make use of the "Display Name" field in the user-profile, as accessed by clicking one's name top-right after logging in.

This was the best way to sort out an issue whereby the forum does things differently from other site components. I gave preference in this name-display behaviour to the core site components as they adhere to important standards that we might be using later on, such as the ecommerce function. The forum developer is also working towards improving integration.

Regarding remembering the log-in details: The "Remember Login" tick-box only remembers the User Name. For security reasons, it won't remember the password. There are third-party browser add-ins such as the Google Toolbar or Microsoft Live Toolbar and these will store the passwords as well.

That said, the forum should hold on to one's logged-in status a little longer than it does and this is on the bug-list for the site framework.

Hope that helps clarify it a little. And please keep coming with any site issues, because I do want things to work as best as they can be made to. I'm still doing lots of tweaking.

Regards,
Rob

hmmm... Ok.. I've been away doing some more research into this sign-in stuff and so that I don't hijack Evan's news thread I've made a new forum with a post about it.

Evan I am having the same problem as the gentleman from abouve in that my front D. has a lot of flex but I am missing this alum. plate that is supposed to provide support. How much to get one to the US?
